Foam |
Build up of body lotions, cosmetics, laundry detergent or organic contaminants. | For new water, leave to settle for a few days, if still foam present add one small capful of antifoam, then pool clarifier 100ml per 1000 litre of water, clean the filter, address chemical balances. |
Green Water |
Organic contaminants causing an active bacteria to grow in the water. Lack of cleanliness and sanitisers have dropped too low. | Urgent action required, drain and clean all surfaces with a chlorine solution, flush pipes with a double shock treatment, clean the filter, refill and address chemical balances. Brown Water |

Skin/Eye Irritation |

Scale & Stains |
High Calcium Hardness | Drain water and clean with equal parts of white vinegar and distilled water, rinse and refill. Read Article “Lime Scale & Stains” |
Corrosion/Etching | Presence of metals in water (iron, copper, etc) | Test total alkalinity levels and if necessary increase with sodium bicarbonate (pH plus). Address chemical balances. |
