Electrical Safety Advice for 13amp Hot Tubs

Unfortunately, here in the UK we tend to get an awful lot of rain, this mixed water from the Spa can cause a host of issues.  Below is our guidance on how best to look after your Spa Plug & Cable.
  • It is required that your socket is at least 2m away from the Spa.
  • It is recommended that you use a waterproof RCD protected socket at IP44 or over.
  • It is not advisable to plug your Spa into an extension lead.
  • Regularly check your plug, cable and socket to ensure that they are dry.

NOTE: Water allowed to collect in the plug/socket or isolator can cause corrosion of the wiring, this can result in electrocution or even worse, there is a risk of fire.

This is what can happen if you leave your plug to collect water.

If you are unsure of what is required and if your supply is suitable, we would recommend that you seek advice from a fully qualified Electrician.
